LeBron James is aiming to play in the NBA for another six years, even though he will be turning 39 in December. James joked that he will use his left hand to score more points after he turns 40, which would allow him to play for an additional five seasons and score an additional 5,000 points.
James is currently the NBA's all-time leading scorer with 39,258 points and he is averaging 25.3 points per game this season. If he can maintain a similar average, he would finish his career with around 46,000 points.
James missed the Lakers' game against the Spurs on Wednesday due to a left calf contusion, but the team was able to win without him. LA will need James back in the lineup if they want to make a serious playoff run this season.
The Spurs' loss extended their franchise-worst losing streak to 18 games. The Lakers will look to avenge their loss to the Spurs in San Antonio on Friday.
